…As agency holds summit in Calabar
The Director-General of the Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), Great Ogban Usetu has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strategic partnerships for development.
He conveyed this message during the inaugural Bakassi International Cross-Border Business Summit, held in Calabar, the state capital.
In his address, the DG emphasized that Bakassi’s future hinges on productivity rather than dependence. He urged the community to transcend the era of mere subsistence and embrace the vast potential of enterprise development through skills, creativity, and innovation.

“At MEDA, we are fully dedicated to nurturing your entrepreneurial aspirations,” Usetu said.
Furthermore, he highlighted the active role of the Cross River State Entrepreneurship Development Centre (CRS-EDC) in reorienting mindsets and equipping individuals with the entrepreneurial acumen essential for navigating this evolving economic landscape.
The DG commended the Chairman, Effiong Okon, and Executives of Bakassi Local Government Area for their commendable initiative and hailed the “People First” agenda of the state governor.
