Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI have arrested suspected Boko Haram collaborators and neutralised insurgents during series of operations across Adamawa and Borno states.

A statement issued on Thursday
signed by Sani Uba, a lieutenant colonel and Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, stated that the troops, working in coordination with local vigilantes and hunters, carried out targeted operations aimed at disrupting terrorist logistics and supply networks in the North-East.

In Adamawa State, troops of Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended a 28-year-old suspect, identified as Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area. He was described as a logistics supplier to Boko Haram. Items recovered from him included an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements and assorted foodstuffs. The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.

In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops neutralised a suspected terrorist commander, identified as Abdullahi Mafa, during an ambush along the Visik River line. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the scene.

Acting on further intelligence, troops also arrested 64-year-old Dauda Usman Gubula at Madagali Motor Park. He was described as a terrorist collaborator and alleged drone supplier to the insurgents. According to the military, the suspect supplied drones that were locally modified and used by terrorists in attacks against troops. Items recovered from him included two aerial drones, drone accessories and 20 solar power banks.

In Borno State, troops of Sector 2, working alongside local vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu. The troops also neutralised a suspected terrorist informant who was attempting to breach defensive positions. Logistic items were recovered during the operation.

Military authorities said the operations form part of ongoing efforts to dismantle insurgent supply chains, restore security and protect communities across the North-East. The Military High Command commended the troops for their dedication and urged them to maintain the operational momentum in the fight against terrorism.
