Three women-owned businesses have received N1 million grant each, at the Calabarmums Big Meet Business Summit, which was held recently in Calabar.
The grant was courtesy of the Cross River State Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA).
Also, 20 other women received scholarships for a training programme at Centre for Entrepreneurs Development (CED) Calabar.
The summit, themed “Her Money, Her Power,” took place at the conference hall of the Prof. Eyo Ita House, Marian Road, Calabar.

The women from diverse backgrounds attended the event, sharing their experiences and insights to encourage other women to embrace entrepreneurship and develop structured businesses.
Great Ogban, director-general, MEDA, emphasized the state government’s commitment to enterprise development, particularly for women, whom he described as the foundation of a thriving society like Cross River State.
Victoria Ekpo, the summit convener, explained that the Calabarmums brand is dedicated to supporting women in navigating the challenges of life and fostering a strong sense of community.
She added that the business summit aims to empower female business owners by providing a platform for learning from experts and established entrepreneurs.
