Uwem Cosmas Udoh, the general director of Scripture Union Nigeria and seven other pastors were recently released by their abductors after weeks in the kidnappers’ den.
“With hearts full of immense relief and profound gratitude to Almighty God, we write to express our deepest appreciation for your unwavering support during the harrowing time our brethren were held captive.
“To the glory of God, our brethren were released and are safe and healthy,” Willy Onu, national chairman, said in a statement.
According to Onu, Scripture Union Nigeria will never forget the faith, fervent prayers, and financial support, which gave the union the strength and courage needed to endure the agonising ordeal. “We do not take your generosity and care for granted.”
Onu added that their release is a testament to the power of collective prayer, resilience, and the sacrifices made by every member of the Union at all levels. “Let no one’s heart fail because of this traumatic experience. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19).
“May the Almighty God reward you abundantly and protect you from all harm in Jesus’ name.”
