Man demands N500m damages from Police IG over false ‘wanted’ declaration

The Edo State Police Command has arrested a suspected travel agent and two suppliers for allegedly defrauding their victims of the sum of N19.9million in Benin City.

BDSunday reports that the Public Relations Officer of the command SP Chidi Nwabuzor disclosed this while parading 15 suspects arrested for alleged cultism, attempted murder, kidnapping armed robbery and drugs trafficking.

Nwabuzor gave the names of the suspects as David Ibiso (40), Ajala Kasim (35) and Ajala Jamiu (29).

He said the suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime unit.

He said David Ibiso, a travel agent, who also introduced himself as
medical doctor, defrauded his victim one Josephine Egharevba (f), the sum of N11million under the pretence to procure her travel documents to the USA.

He said the suspect was arrested in Abuja and would soon be charged to court.

The command’s image maker added that Ajala Kasim and Ajala Jamiu were also arrested for defrauding one Simon Farohunbi the sum of N8.900million.

He told newsmen that the suspects
fraudulently obtained the amount from the victim under the pretence of supplying him with Cocoa produce worth the same amount.

Also paraded include a 29 year Martins Uwaifo, arrested for allegedly driving one Lexus RX350 Jeep with fake number plates of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

Nwabuzor said the suspect arrested by operatives of Anti-Cultism Unit also confessed to being a member of Vikings secret cult confraternity.

Others are one Nwankwo Afamefuna, a driver arrested with five bags of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp

He said the suspect, the driver of one blue colour Toyota Sienna vehicle Reg No. ACA 934 ZP, was conveying weeds suspected to be Indian hemp from Lagos to Anambra State when he was arrested.
