The Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, on Friday handed over the arrested suspected drug dealer to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Bauchi for more investigation and prosecution.
The handover ceremony held during a press briefing at the Police Headquarters, Yandoka Road in Bauchi. Aliyu said that the drug dealer, Ogbu Simon was arrested with narcotics dealer, and recovered 161kg of illicit drugs.
He said that the illicit drugs estimated total value of the recovered narcotics is approximately Twelve Million, Two Hundred Thousand Naira (₦ 12,200,000.00).

The Commissioner said: “On 26th November 2025 at about 2000 hours, based on credible intelligence provided by a concerned citizen, operatives from the Ningi Divisional Police Headquarters responded to reports of suspicious sacks being uploaded at a shop owned by Ogbu Simon.”
He said that the Command has fought tirelessly in raising policing standards, which has led to significant milestones in the combat against crime and criminality.
He further said that the command arrested the suspect for supplying narcotics from Onitsha, Anambra State to Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State and surrounding regions.
“In response to this intelligence, a team of detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ningi, CSP Surajo Ibrahim Birnin Kudu, executed a strategic raid on the shop located within Ningi town. The operation resulted in the seizure of four bags containing suspected Diazepam (D 5) and Tramadol tablets.”
The command assigned the Operation Restore Peace (ORP) unit to conduct an exhaustive investigation and to apprehend the suspect, where they successfully arrested the suspect, who confessed to being a dealer supplying drugs to various markets within and outside Ningi.
Sani-Omolori affirmed their unwavering commitment to combating drug-related crimes.
The commissioner urged members of the public to remain calm and continue to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the prevention, mitigation, and controlling of crime and criminality.
