OyaConnect hub hosts inspireX summit, supports emerging entrepreneurs

More than 1,000 students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders converged on the University of Benin for the 2026 edition of InspireX Summit 3.0, an annual youth development conference focused on leadership, innovation, mentorship, and employability.

The summit, organised by OyaConnect Hub, held last Saturday, at the Akin Deko Auditorium, University of Benin, Edo State, brought together participants from across Nigeria for a day of learning, networking, and career empowerment.

Founded in 2023 by Ikenna Ikpa, OyaConnect Hub is a youth-focused professional development platform committed to helping young people “Yearn, Learn, and Earn” through mentorship, practical learning, and strategic networking opportunities.

Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, the organisers said InspireX Summit was created to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity by exposing young people to the knowledge, networks, and mindset required to succeed in today’s evolving economy.

This year’s summit was themed, ‘Inspiring the Next Generation: Leadership, Innovation, and Energy for Africa’s Future.’

The event featured keynote addresses and panel discussions led by prominent public officials, entrepreneurs, and development professionals, including Ohimai Ehijimetor, Kay Benson-Akhigbe, Munirat Anto Lecky, Jobina Arinze, Ibrahim Odion, and Andrew Igbeneweka.

Speakers stressed the importance of intentional networking, structured mentorship, continuous learning, and disciplined execution as critical drivers of career and business success.

Organisers disclosed that more than 300 additional participants joined the summit virtually through online streaming platforms, while over 150 volunteers supported the smooth execution of the programme.

A major highlight of the summit was an accelerated business pitch session involving five selected participants who presented innovative business ideas before a panel.

Three outstanding pitches emerged winners and received startup support valued at $800, including business registration, training, and development opportunities through OyaConnect Hub.
