A must-have in the market place

Marketplace is not just a place of buying and selling, rather it is a place of intense transaction, it is a place of WAR. It is full of victors and the vanquished. Every man and woman is involved because in life we are either trying to get or give a good or render a service for profit. The sad thing is that the marketplace is lopsided as there are few winners and many losers. Most people have accepted their lot to be preys, while the few predators feast on them. So, what is your position? We all have the choice today to be winners in the market place, below are the must have:

 

1. Right bearing

You must get your BEARING right. Marketplace is not a purposeless place. You are not there because others are there. You need to know the reason. On no account must you lose sight of the reason for being there. You are there to win and win you must.

 

2. Tenacity

Don’t forget the definition of what marketplace is. It is a place of intense physical and spiritual transaction for profit. The intention of every participant is to take forcefully. Your interest is not their concern; at all cost they must take. But they only succeed against people that are weak and uninformed. Tenacity is the quality or fact of being determined, your determination must be second to none.

 

3. Fearlessness

Ever wondered that most times the people that make greatest boast are usually those who have never been tested before? Every successful person in the marketplace is not immune to fear, rather he has learnt to put fear in its place. They ride on the wing of fear to take what belong to them by right. God’s love letter to us says, FEAR NOT or said in other words FEAR NOUGHT. This is where many intelligent, strong, skillful people miss it. They drop them all at the altar of fear and they end up losing big time in life. You must go into the marketplace with a consciousness of the God of heaven been by your side.

 

4. When to retreat

Retreat does not mean surrender. Your knowledge of the fight you are up against must be clear to you before you enter into it. This will help you to know when to retreat. It is better to lose some than to lose all. There are always many opportunities that are going to be presented to you when you make a comeback. Retreat periods are usually times to gain strength and add more knowledge to what you know. The circumstances that made you beat a retreat are no match for your comeback.

 

5. Networking

He that wants to have friend must show himself friendly (Proverbs18:24). Association is key, good association. You cannot hide under the guise of temperament and succeed in the marketplace. Your dealings are with humans not animals. Maximise every relationship in your space. Belong to one group or the other and show yourself friendly. You cannot work or live in isolation.

 

6. Skill

A skillful person in his line of business is a wanted person in the marketplace. Marketplace is not home to mono-skill, it is the more the merrier that is appreciated. The era of brandishing certificate is over, it is what you are good at, that the marketplace will pay you for. You need to acquire more skills.

 

7. Perseverance

This is what separates boys from men. There is always a point you get to in your business that you feel it is either not worth it or you are tired. Your ability to transverse this stage is a winning ability. A lot of folks call it quit at this point. The circumstances are not letting off, they do not seem to be making progress. Usually that is when you should stay on longer and you will be surprised at what follows.

 

8. Walk with God

The journey in the marketplace is not just a physical journey by reason of buy and sell. It is a spiritual journey. Every transaction in the marketplace is first of all spiritual before it is physical. Diabolism is the order of the day. Your counterparts in the marketplace are familiar with this so you have to be in on it. You do not know God because you want to do business. You know Him because He is all you need in life.
