The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of Phase III of the Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, set to begin on May 11, 2026, and continue until July 10, 2026.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Hassan Sarki of the Sokoto State office of the Commission, and made available to journalists.
As the final opportunity for eligible citizens to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), the Commission urged all residents of Sokoto State to take advantage of opportunity. The CVR exercise will be conducted both online via pre-registration and physical registration points for in-person registration.
Umar Yusuf Garba, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Sokoto called on the people of Sokoto to ensure they are registered ahead of upcoming elections. He emphasised the importance of participation in the electoral process and encouraged every eligible individual to make use of this final window to avoid being left out.
“Your participation is critical to the growth of our democracy. We urge everyone in Sokoto State to register and collect their PVCs as this is the final chance before the exercise concludes. The deadline for registration is fast approaching, so act now,” Garba said.
The CVR process includes both online and physical registration, with specific timelines for each activity. Additionally, individuals who have lost their PVCs, need to transfer their registration, or those wishing to update their information can now handle these processes without visiting the INEC office. These services can be accessed online at cvr.inecnigeria.org, providing a convenient and efficient option for all registered voters.
The Commission also urged everyone to abide by the timelines and ensure that all necessary steps are completed within the provided period.
