Imo is a friendly state for investors, says Onunji

The General Overseer of True Believers Assembly Church, the Reverend, Eric Onunji, has described Imo State as a friendly and hospitable state and called on both local and foreign investors to come and establish their businesses because Imo is a friendly state for investments to thrive.

He said that Imo State occupies a strategic position, and with Owerri the capital, a centralised city among the major towns such as Umuahia, Onitsha Aba, Enugu and Port Harcourt which can be easily reached in less than two hours, that investors can take the advantage of its proximity to invest.

Onunji, who spoke while delivering a sermon in the Church, said that Imo State has a reasonable population, rich in both natural and human resources, and is acclaimed to have the largest deposit of natural gas in Nigeria.

As the church service was filled to capacity, he said that Imo State is tourist’s attraction, and capable of drawing the attention of investors to come in and establish their investments.

He also stated that the Orashi project in Oguta, which will open up the state more to the outside world through the Atlantic Ocean which came through Governor Hope Uzodinma, when fully completed and operational would be a Free Trade Zone (FTZ) for oil and gas, power as well as a seaport and a sea route to the outside world.

Onunji further said that the Orashi would, when completed, offer thousands of jobs, both direct and indirect, to the people of Imo State and go a long way to reduce the growing unemployment among youths.

The clergy, popularly called “Reverend Eric,” further described Imo as a state blessed with rich arable lands that can be farmed or cultivated to produce agricultural produce in quantity.

Meanwhile, he has commended Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for the good work he has done in his one-year-plus in office, saying that what he has done as a governor has surpassed what his predecessor did in eight years.

He also commended Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State for constructing good and solid roads and wished that roads in Imo State could be like the ones in Akwa Ibom State.

He therefore, urged that prayers should be made for governors, especially, for Governor Hope Uzodinma to leave a lasting legacy and leave the state better than he met it.
