Prof. Matthew Siu Ting Yip, internationally recognised for his contributions to mathematics education, delivered an inspiring presentation at the LOSD Skills Live Show 2026 held at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

The event, recently organised by the London Organisation of Skills Development (LOSD), brought together more than 250 delegates from over 45 countries, alongside global leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and professionals for discussions centred on leadership, innovation, education, and human development.

Yip was a VIP Skills Live Speaker among 51 invited speakers at the event, where he delivered a presentation titled “Let’s GOAT.” During the session, he encouraged participants to challenge traditional approaches to learning and personal growth, emphasising that mathematics extends beyond numbers and serves as a foundation for resilience, discipline, and excellence.

Widely known within academic and educational circles as the “Mathematician,” Prof. Dr. Yip used the platform to demonstrate how mathematical thinking can influence leadership, innovation, and long-term achievement across industries.

Holding two PhDs in Mathematics and Education, as well as an honorary doctorate, he has built an international reputation through his work in mathematics education, Olympiad senior trainer, prolific author of over 120 tertiary – level courses and academic researcher.

His appearance at Oxford drew significant attention from educators and professionals attending the Skills Live Show 2026, particularly for his ability to simplify complex educational concepts into practical and motivational lessons applicable beyond the classroom.

The event also recognised Prof. Dr. Yip’s contributions during the LOSD Excellence Awards 2026, where he received recognition in the Education category for his impact on global mathematics education.

According to the organisers, the award reflected his longstanding contributions to academic development, mathematics research, and educational mentorship.

Prof. Yip is also recognised for setting multiple records in mathematics and mathematics education, while earning more than 70 international awards throughout his career, including Lifetime Achievement and World Leaders recognitions associated with the UK Parliament.

As Executive President of the Asia International Mathematical Research Association, he continues to support the advancement of mathematics education globally through Olympiad mentorship programmes, academic training, and the development of tertiary-level educational courses.

Beyond the awards ceremony, Yip participated in VIP networking engagements and ceremonial activities alongside dignitaries, speakers, and award recipients attending the Oxford Skills Live Show 2026.

His achievements were also acknowledged during activities organised by the LOSD Publishing House, where he was named among the 26 Game Changers of the Year 2026 in an upcoming coffee table publication scheduled for launch at Harvard University in August 2026.

The Oxford gathering, led by Prof. Parin Somani, chief executive officer of LOSD, and LOSD teams, also featured the launch of ‘A Book of Happiness’ as well as announcements surrounding forthcoming publications including ‘A Book of Resilience’ and Queens edition coffee table book – ‘Rising Queens: The Icons of 2026’. Distinguished guests at the event included Cllr Louise Upton, Worshipful Lord Mayor of Oxford; Cllr Sunny Lambe, Worshipful Mayor of Southwark; Cllr Anjana Patel, Worshipful Mayor of Harrow; Cllr Tushar Kumar, Deputy Mayor of Elstree and Borehamwood; and Cllr Smita Rajesh, Deputy Mayor of Chelmsford City.

Yip’s participation also attracted international media attention. He was interviewed by London TV discussing the future of mathematics education in the era of artificial intelligence and technological advancement. He is also invited to feature in a forthcoming edition of London Elite Magazine highlighting his educational journey and contributions to global learning.

His presentation at Oxford reinforced ongoing conversations around the importance of analytical thinking, innovation, and education in a rapidly evolving global economy.

While technology and artificial intelligence continue to reshape industries, Prof. Yip maintained that mathematics remains a universal tool for problem-solving, critical thinking, and human advancement across disciplines.
