As part of efforts to fulfill its objectives of meeting the needs of the less privileged and building capacity in society, the Uche Auhubelem Centre for Human Development has given out food items and cash gifts to the Hearts of Gold Children Hospice at Surulere.

The move was also part of the activities to mark the birthday of Uche Auhubelem, managing director of Brickwall Group of Companies Ltd and founder of the foundation, who said for him, the home is the best place to celebrate his birthday and promises to make the visitation as often as possible.

According to him, “This, to me, is a new direction and I never knew that there is a home for people who are disabled. When my workers brought the brochure to me, I was shocked to see that something like this happens. So, I decided to mark my birthday here.”

He explained that he felt there are people who really need help in society today but do not get it and that “these children” are some of such people.

He commended the efforts of the founder of the Hospice for putting up a place to take care of the less privileged children, adding that the foundation will continue to be part of what happens at the place.

“Uche Auhubelem Foundation was launched on 4th April 2015 at Eko Hotel. We have monthly plans and in six months time, we will hold another session in one of the hotels on the island, where we are going to educate the young entrepreneurs on how to build their businesses,” he said.

Theresa Laja Adedoyin, founder and CEO, Hearts of Gold Children’s Hospice, who appreciated the Uche Auhubelem Foundation for reaching out to the children, also wished the foundation well.
