Bogoro Council Boss, Sumi, partners Police to combat crime, other security challenges

The Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Yakubu Lawi Sumi has vowed to partner police and other security outfits to combat crimes and other security challenges.

Sumi said that his administration would not condone or shield anyone that indulges in crime or breaks the law of the country.

He vowed to give priority to the security of life and property, because security of life is a fundamental duty of every government.

The council boss, Sumi made this known while addressing the assistant Commissioner of police, ACP Nasiru Imam who paid him a courtesy call at his Bogoro Local Government Secretariat office.

He stressed that security of life and properties are paramount to the smooth existence of the residents.

Sumi, however promised to work with the state Police Command and other security agents to stop all issues of criminalities in the local government.

The council chairman urged the people of Bogoro Local Government to help the security agencies through information to help them flush out the bad eggs among the people in the area.

According to the chairman, “I thank you for your visit to Bogoro and I want to assure you that I will be up and running to ensure that our people irrespective of tribe or religion sleep with their eyes closed.

“Security of life and property is very important to me. Without security, people cannot go to farm, conduct business and even come to the office. As the chief security officer of this LGA, I will work hard to keep this area very calm and peaceful.”

While the Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Nasiru Imam said he was in Bogoro to seek collaboration between the Police and the local government.

The ACP charged members of the public to be security-conscious and report people with suspicious characters to the police.

He however appealed to the people of Bogoro to live peacefully with one another and avoid taking the law into their hands.

The assistant commissioner of police, ACP, Nasiru Imam promised support for the local government, also commended the efforts of the state governor, senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir’s administration for the giant strides in maintaining peace in the state.
