Joseph Ojo, the national president of the United International Association of Pentecostal Bishops (UNIAPEB Global) College, has called on Christian leaders across the country to take time out to deepen their understanding of the Bible to better teach their flocks.

“The way we have the country today, even the blind can see that there’s a need for replenishment. There’s a need for a divine torch, a divine galvanization of the things of God in this country,” Ojo said.

He made this call during the 2-day retreat of the College, themed, ‘Replenishing the Flock,’ held between Tuesday February 24 and Thursday February 26, 2026, at Monarch University, Sango-Ota, Ogun State.

According to Ojo, the retreat was essential in helping the clerics realign their ministry with the original calling and intention of God for the Church.

He added that the retreat will help members of the College to experience divine visitation anew and make the Church come alive, and come to their responsibility as shepherds.

“An environment where the pastors can freely propagate the gospel without hindrances, and be able to fulfill their God-given mandate, in an atmosphere that will be vibrant enough to make them fulfill the call of God upon their lives,” Ojo Said.

Samuel Amoo Thomas, deputy president, UNIAPEB Global, said the College has been directly in touch and supportive of members in troubled zones who could not attend the 2026 retreat.

“We fast for them. We encourage them, and make sure that they are not alone,” he said.

He added that the killings and kidnapping happening across the country has gone beyond what can be casually discussed by pastors.

“But God helping us through the wisdom of our leader, we are able to cope in managing most of those crises,” said Thomas.
