Yemi Alade, a popular Afrobeats singer, has lamented the current situation of the country, saying Nigerians are being wicked to each other with daily increase in prices.
Alade said this on her X account on Wednesday, lamenting the rising electricity tariffs and fuel price.
The Afrobeat star also lamented the unstable rate of naira to the US dollar, saying that the Nigerian currency is dancing “Alanta.”
Alade said while all these are going on, Afrobeat artists are making a mess and their fans are picking sides instead of facing the government.
“Electricity Tariff& Fuel are at a 400% increase.Naira to $ is dancing alanta.
The weather is unbearably hot.
People are busy being wicked 2each other with daily increase in prices.
Salaries have not been increased.
Afrobeat artists are making the mess & u r picking sides instead of facing ur government,” she said.
Alade’s outburst comes amid lingering fuel scarcity across the country which has also worsened the hardships faced by Nigerians.
Her comment also comes amid growing rift between two Afrobeat superstars, Ayo Balogun Wizkid, and David Adeleke Davido, which has divided music fans on social media.
