Tricycle, ‘Okada’ riders in Ijora protest ban

Okadaban and Sanwo-olu
At about 8:20 am on Monday, February 3, miscreants in Ijora areas of Lagos, alleging to be tricycle and motorbike riders were seen protesting the ban on the operation in most part of Lagos metropolis. The ban became effective on February 1.
The miscreants took to the streets burning tires on the road and obstructing vehicular movement in and out of that axis.
A combined team of security agencies were seen challenging them leading to shootings.
For car owners, tricycle and motorbike ban on major roads in Lagos State has seemingly created decent roads with a positive impact on their journey time but for other commuters who hitherto used those mean of transport to their workplaces, they are spending reasonable time at the bus stops waiting for buses.
