Moderna, the US biotechnology firm, announced Monday that its coronavirus vaccine is 94% effective at preventing the disease.
Interim data from the US firm Moderna suggests its vaccine is highly effective in preventing people getting ill and also works across all age groups, including the elderly.
A total 15,000 received the vaccine and only five became ill with the virus but none of the five suffered a severe infection.
British scientists have hailed the news as “tremendously exciting.”
Last week the world received a similar news about the Pfizer vaccine.
Mordena’s vaccine appears to be more stable in higher temperatures and it could be best for poor countries with chaotic logistics.
