A High court in Lagos Tuesday struck out a preliminary objection raised by Nigeria’s attorney general, Abubakar Malami against the suit brought by telecommunications giant MTN against the $2bn claims in back taxes which the government is asking the firm to pay.
A Lagos judge ruled on Tuesday that MTN had met a deadline to respond to the $2 billion tax demand from the attorney general.
The case has now been adjourned to June 26 for hearing.
