Banks, offices, businesses shut down at NASS as Buhari presents 2020 budget

Sequel to the presentation of the N10,729.4 trillion 2020 budget by President Muhammad Buhari at 2pm today, commercial banks, offices and businesses operating within the National Assembly Complex have been shut down.

Also, offices of lawmakers of the two Chambers (Reps and Senate) could not be operational as their Secretaries, Legislative Aides and other Staff can not gain access to the National Assembly Complex.

Apart from Lawmakers, Senior Staff of the National Assembly, officials from the presidency, few accredited workers and journalists are being allowed access into National Assembly.

The National Assembly Branches of most of the Commercial Banks visited by BusinessDay including; United Bank for Africa (UBA), Unity Bank,  First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Polaris Bank, Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB), Sterling, Jaiz, Wema, Keystone and Fidelity were under lock and Key.

Similarly, the National Identity Management Commission (MIMC) office in the National Assembly was closed just as business premises, however the Clinic was opened.
