The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) caretaker committee set up last week to pilot the affairs of the party for six months following the ouster of Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC), on Thursday night, met with Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the party.

The meeting, which took place at the Bourdilon Street, Ikoy, residence of Tinubu, had in attendance Governor Mai Bala Buni of Yobe State, who is the chairman of the caretaker committee.

Other members of the committee who attended include chairman of Progressive Governor’s Forum, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, secretary of caretaker committee, Akpan Udo-Edehe and APC campaign committee for Edo election, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

Speaking to journalists after the closed door meeting, Tinubu said members of the committee were in his house for a consultation and not reconciliation, as there was no fight in the APC that needs reconciliation.

“We have no differences to be sorted out in the APC, we just had consultation and it is how our party would continue to be a progressive party”.

The national leader, who was solidly behind Oshiomhole and his ousted NWC, said there is no ripple in the APC notwithstanding the sacking of Oshiohmhole, “because nobody is fighting anybody, we have never been divided, there can be disagreement because not everybody is a zombie.”

“There are instances when you disagree but it doesn’t mean that you can not discuss it over and be a good example in leadership and politics.”

Tinubu further noted that politics without seeming media crisis will be less interesting, “but the question is are we committed to building this party and Nigeria, that is what we are all about.

“We are steering the ship of our nation and our party in the right direction,” he added.

Buni, chairman of the caretaker committee, who led other members to the meeting, said that the meeting was part of the consultation they are making.

“You know the task before us is daunting and we need guidance, experience and prayers from our leaders.”

The host governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu said, “I am happy to have my colleagues here, it’s been a very fruitful discussion we’ve had here this evening”.
