The 2016 Nigerian Legal Awards is set to hold next month in Lagos State. Among individuals to be honoured is former Chiarman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola.

He will be recognised for his selfless contributions to the legal profession and his efforts to fight corruption in the country.

Justice Dulcie Oguntoye, the oldest living female judge; Hairat Balogun, first female Attorney-General and Augustice Alegeh, immediate past President of the Nigerian Bar Association will also be honoured at this year’s awards.

The annual event is organised by Legal Blitz Limited and speaking at a news briefing, the CEO, Legal Blitz Limited, Lere Fashola says the event serves as a medium in bridging the gap between the economy and the law.

According to Fashola, this year’s event will go beyond the glitz and glamour to discuss important topics that will affect the nation’s economy hence the theme of the event; ‘’Restructuring vs Rebuilding: Bringing life back to the Nigerian economy’’.

Captains of industry, legal icons, professional, field experts will be on ground to propel the discussion. Some 40 other legal professionals will be recognised at the awards, the organiser said.
