Trans-Nationwide Express records highest weekly price gain

In the trading week ended July 31, 2015 Trans-Nationwide Express plc occupied the topmost position in terms of share price gain from N0.88 to N1.05, adding N0.17 or 19.32%.

E-Tranzact International plc followed after recording week-on-week (WoW) price increase from N3.18 to N3.60, adding N0.42 or 13.21%.

In the week under review, no fewer than sixteen (16) equities appreciated in price, lower than twenty-eight (28) equities in the preceding week.

On the contrary, fifty-five (55) equities depreciated in price, higher than forty-four (44) equities in the preceding week, while one hundred and nineteen (119) equities remained unchanged, higher than one hundred and eighteen (118) equities recorded in the preceding week.

Other top gainers include National Aviation Handling Company plc which rose from N4.62 to N5.10, adding N0.48 or 10.39%. Redstar Express plc also rose from N4.52 to N4.93, adding N0.41 or 9.07%.

Beta Glass Company (Nigeria) plc rose from N39.50 to N43, adding N3.50 or 8.86%. Cement Company of Northern Nigeria plc rose from N8.79 to N9.50, adding N0.71 or 8.08%.

Eterna plc rose from N2.22 to N2.34, adding N0.12 or 5.41%; Mcnichols plc also recorded a weekly gain from N1.26 to N1.32, adding N0.06 or 4.76%.

Lafarge Africa plc rallied from N99 to N103.09, adding N4.09 or 4.13%; while Champion Breweries plc rose from N5.15 to N5.36, adding N0.21 or 4.08%.

On the losers table, Portland Paints and Products Nigeria plc led the list after its share price declined from N4.85 to N3.96, down by N0.89 or 18.35%.

UACN Property Development Company plc followed after its share price declined from N10.02 to N8.63, losing N1.39 or 13.87%. Paints and Coatings Manufactures plc made the list of top losers last week after its share price declined from N1.33 to N1.15, losing N0.18 or 13.53%.

Guinness Nigeria plc declined from N141.50 to N125.10, losing N16.40 or 11.59%; Evans Medical plc dipped from N0.61 to N0.54, losing N0.07 or 11.48%; Transnational Corporation of Nigeria plc declined from N2.30 to N2.06, losing N0.24 or 10.43%; FBN Holdings plc also lost after its share price recorded a weekly decline from N7.70 to N6.90, losing N0.80 or 10.39%.

Northern Nigeria Flour Mills plc dipped from N17.15 to N15.49, losing N1.66 or 9.68%; AXAMansard Insurance plc also lost from N2.80 to N2.53, down by N0.27 or 9.64%; while Guaranty Trust Bank plc made the list of top losers after its share price declined from N25.40 to N22.99, losing N2.41or 9.49%.
