Four companies – Forte Oil plc, Nigerian Breweries plc, McNichols Consolidated plc, and Africa Prudential Registrars plc – have made the audited 2013 results ‘early filers’ list of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).

Early filers are companies that file their financial statements at least two weeks before the due date. The Exchange has identified these companies as companies that have exceeded the minimum listing standards in terms of timely disclosure of their audited annual and quarterly financial performance.

Forte Oil filed its full-year 2013 results at the Nigerian bourse on January 31, 2014, against its due date of March 31, 2014. Nigerian Breweries filed its full-year 2013 scorecard on February 13, 2014, against March 31, 2014, due date.

McNichols Consolidated filed its audited 2013 full-year result on February 14, 2014, against March 31, 2014, due date, while Africa Prudential Registrars submitted its audited financial scorecard on February 17, 2014, against a due date March 31, 2014.

“Quoted companies on the Exchange are required to file their financial statements on a timely basis in accordance with Appendix 111 of the Listing Rules. The Exchange is extremely proud of these companies and will continue to showcase quoted companies that imbibe high corporate governance practices,” the NSE stated in its X-Compliance report.

This comes as the bourse identifies scores of companies that fell short of the minimum listing standards in terms of timely disclosure of their audited annual financial performance, saying they “are operating or operated Below the Listing Standards (BLS) of the Exchange in the course of the year in review.”
