Ngozi Akinyele is at the helm of directing brand, marketing, communications, sustainability and corporate citizenship priorities for the Coronation Group, as the organisation builds Africa’s tech-enabled investment management powerhouse.

Former executive/deputy chief marketing officer, she oversaw brand, marketing, communications, sustainability and corporate citizenship, across all Coronation entities in Africa. These entities offer banking, insurance, wealth and asset management, securities and brokerage services, trustee and registrar services and venture building services.

Prior to that, she was head, strategic brand management, corporate communications and marketing at Union Bank of Nigeria, where she drove the brand, marketing, communications, public relations, brand partnerships and experiences at the 105+ year old bank.

In five years, she led the team that supported three CEO transitions, built three digital sub-brands, developed a first-of-its-kind sound identity, created several successful brand platforms, delivered award-winning campaigns, yielding measurable brand and business results.

Before then, she was senior associate (Management Consulting) at KPMG, where she led the change management team as part of the 21st century operations transformation for a tier-1 Nigerian bank emerging from a complex M&A process, developed the business case model to demonstrate estimated cost savings from business process management solutions for a bank, yielding ₦2billion cost savings in three years.

Furthermore, she also analysed financial statements of the bank’s subsidiaries, conducted market analysis of subsidiary industries and advised on restructuring options, as part of the group restructuring advisory services to a tier-2 Nigerian bank. In addition, Ngozi contributed to the framework design for the nationwide execution of number portability in Nigerian telecoms industry, as part of the core project team, while also leading the engagement and developed the five year growth forecast for the product categories on a consumer goods market sizing and growth potential analysis for a multinational company.

Ngozi is an experienced management consultant and brand manager with a high sense of drive, initiative and ability to apply knowledge as required in the workplace.

Her specific interests are in brand development, marketing, operational transformation, business intelligence analytics and change management across aviation, banking, retail consumer goods and transportation sectors, among others.

Outside management consulting, she has been a frequent guest interviewer at the widely acclaimed national development fair – ‘The Platform Nigeria’ and has had the privilege of interviewing eminent speakers.

Ngozi Akinyele has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Lagos, as well as certificates in public relations, business intelligence, banking operations, business process improvement, strategic management and employability skills.
