Industry Leaders honoured at Entrepreneurship Summit

Every year, the Leadership Roundtable Summit has been a platform where young people learn about leadership, development and entrepreneurship and this year was no different as the theme of the summit was, “Enterprise Leadership: The Roadmap to National Development.”

In the past 4 years that the summit has taken place, it has played host to leaders in different industries which include individuals like; Jimi Agbaje, Demola Ogunbanjo, John Obidi, Spirit of Saco and several other dignitaries. This 4th edition which held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel equally had in attendance speakers and guests like the Commissioner of Youths and Sports, Oyo state, Hon. Seun Fakorede, Kemi Lewis of KLS Naturals, Akindele Gbogboade, Dr Moni Adanijo of Naveen Healthcare, Onyeka Akumah of Farmcrowdy and several others.

The Chairman of the planning committee, Yvonne Adewumi Esq when welcoming guests to the summit mentioned that the host company Global Leadership Institute (GLI) has reached out to over 3000 youths and entrepreneurs through the yearly summit and several other workshops.

While addressing participants at the summit, Hon. Seun Fakorede encouraged members of the audience, especially the youths to make the global standard their standard of measurement and not that of their local environment as that is the only way an individual can compete on a global scale.

The CEO of the host company GLI, Mr Abayomi Adewumi also mentioned that every youth in their various enterprise should take up the challenge of creating a better world than we have now. In his keynote address, he said that entrepreneurship requires true and responsible leadership, which is what the summit was designed to achieve.

The summit also recognised individuals in various enterprises and awarded them for their contribution to the socio-economic growth of the country and their immense contribution to humanity at large. Some of the honourees for the day include; H.E Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ali Baba, Adedamola Ladejobi (AskDamz), Lara Cole, Onyeka Akumah, Adepeju Jaiyeoba, Amaka Amatokwu-Ndekwu of WIHN and Kelechi Anyalechi of Revamp Africa.

Other guest speakers took their turns to admonish and share their experiences in the world of business with participants at the summit.

The summit also included a business pitch competition in which Miss. Chioma Akpabi of Kahsole designs and Mr. Waliu Amosu of guspreneur emerged winners, carting home prizes worth 1 million naira.
