Lawyers meet to unbundle salient issues in insurance compliance

Adegboyega Adepegba & Co, a firm of legal practitioners with strong bias for corporate practice, commercial and business law in conjunction with the Nigerian Insurance Law Association (NILA) will be meeting in Ijebu-Ode to unbundle salient issues confronting compliance and regulation of insurance laws.

The two-day forum which holds at Equity Resort Hotel, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State also has on its programme, a Round Table discussion on landmark cases in Insurance.

It is expected to be a gathering of, company secretaries, legal advisers, and compliance officers in the insurance industry with the theme “The Role of Lawyers in the Development of Insurance Business in Nigeria.”

Anthony Idigbe SAN, who will be the lead speaker is expected to share his over 30 years experience as a successful commercial lawyer. He will be joined in the discussion by Olusina Sofola SAN, from Idowu Sofola & Co; Olusola Ladipo Ajayi, managing director of Lasaco Assurance plc; Tola Adegbayi executive director, Leadway Assurance Co Limited; Talmiz Usman, company secretary/ legal adviser, National Insurance Commission.

Others are Adedeji Adekunle, a professor from Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Lagos; Abiola Sanni, senior lecturer University of Lagos; while Joe Irukwu, a professor and foremost insurance lawyer in Africa will chair the ceremony, the Attorney General of Ogun State is also expected at the forum.
