Shehu Zaki, zonal commanding officer, Zone RS2 Lagos said the campaign is a strategic initiative of the corps aimed at taking road safety awareness to the doorsteps of all drivers and other stakeholders following an expected hike in road activities associated with Ember month period in Nigeria.

“Ember month is a period when commercial drivers are in a desperate haste to double profit; while private ones hurry to meet up several engagements as the result of festivities”.

According to him, the resultant effect is increased vehicular density on the roads, over speeding, overloading, causing stress to drivers and vehicles which often lead to road traffic crashes and gridlocks.
