2021: Nigerians urged to remain resolute despite COVID-19 challenges

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, Sule Okunola in his New Year message, has urged Nigerians to remain resolute in the face of the daunting challenges of COVID-19 and the resulting economic recession in the country.

According to Okunola, as we enthusiastically welcome 2021, Nigerians should look at the brighter side of life and remain resolute, determined, full of hopes and enthusiasm in the New Year.

The APC Chieftain and business magnate said at the turn of every year, we often use the opportunity to look back at the past and forward to the future. To review the outgoing year, its high and low points, successes and failures, and be fully thankful to God.

According to him, 2020 was a turbulent year the World over, with the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus, which has claimed many lives, and sadly, the disease is still claiming more and more lives.

Okunola stated that “we would recall, owing to the emergence of the deadly disease, the government had to lockdown some states and even introduced some safety health measures like hand sanitizers, use of face masks, avoiding of large gatherings, hand washing etc,” he said.

According to him, in the face of it, lives were lost, the economy was rendered epileptic, Nigerians were compelled to seat at home and the like. Okunola, however, commended Nigerians for adhering to the safety health measures. He further applauded the federal and state government for keeping the country going despite the challenges.

According to the APC chieftain, Nigerians should be full of hopes and enthusiasm, believing despite all odds, Nigeria and Nigerians will pull through in the end. He calls on all stakeholders to remain united, passionate, understanding and committed towards achieving the Nigeria of our dreams.

In his final remark, he seized the medium to wish the President and Commander of in Chief of the Armed Forced (President Muhammadu Buhari GCFRN), Senate President, (Ahmed Lawal), Speaker of the House of Representative (Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila), National leader of the APC (Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu), His Excellency the Executive Governor of Lagos State, (Babajide Sanwo Olu), The Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), The Oni of Ife, HRM (Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and Others, wishing them and Nigerians in general, a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
