Tambuwal finally decamps to APC

Aminu Tambuwal, speaker, House of Representatives, at exactly 12:24p.m today formally announced his decision to dump the ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He declared as the plenary session was on.

Femi Gbajabiamila, minority leader, who led the opposition lawmakers to a press briefing, described Tambuwal’s defection as historic.

While welcoming the speaker to APC fold, Gbajabiamila described him as a bridge builder, assuring that even with the defection, the opposition will not renege in its support to the House leadership under Tambuwal. Details soon.
