One of the helicopters in the presidential fleet with registration number 5N-GEJ, on Friday, crashed at the presidential lounge of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.
The helicopter, BusinessDay learnt, had four persons onboard.
It was learnt that those onboard who sustained various degrees of injuries included the pilot, a co-pilot and one other passenger.
The identities of the two passengers are yet to be ascertained but the two pilots are said to be officers of the Nigerian Air Force.
The helicopter, which crashed in the vicinity of the lounge, it was learnt, had one of its wings reportedly detached from the rotor engine forcing it to drop.
The crash victims, it was learnt, are currently being treated at the NAF Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos.
It was, however, learnt that the helicopter was on a training mission in Lagos before it crashed.
Sources close to the air force under whose jurisdiction the helicopter falls, said the helicopter, which suffered severe damage, was returning to the apron after the completion of the training exercise when it crashed due to hydraulic failure while on taxi to the hangar.
The source said the main rotor debris caused damage to some ground equipment on location.
