German Vice Chancellor and Economics Minister Sigmar Gabriel has rebuffed critics of the government’s handling of Greece, a news report said on Sunday.
Gabriel made told newsmen in Berlin, that it was unrealistic for Germany to take on so much risk without demanding that Greece changed its behaviour.
“Then we will have to do the same with Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Eurozone would not be able to survive’’, Gabriel said.

Gabriel also criticised German Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schaeuble’s suggestion that Greece should consider a temporary exit from the EU.
“In my opinion, it was not wise to present this as a German suggestion’’, Gabriel said.
He said that Schaeuble knew that in a Social Democracy the only time to talk about a Greek exit from the Eurozone is “when the Greeks themselves want it.”
