Nick Hays,a communications expert, says Nigeria has over relied on one sector and now needs to diversify its economy through technology.
He made this remark in Abuja on Sunday when he briefed newsmen on an International Techno Expo schedilled to up in October.
“We are working on a plan of growing the technology sector as means of diversifying the Nigerian economy.
He contended that the expo would create job opportunities for Nigerian youths.
According to Hayes, the exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors; especially the youths, to tap into the many job opportunities the sector has the capacity to provide.
“We are working on a plan of growing the technology sector as a means of diversifying the Nigerian economy; we need to diversify because we have over relied on one sector.”
He said they would point out the enormous potentials the sector has as an alternative source of revenue generation for the country.
Mr Segun Adefope, one of the planners of the exhibition, said it was intended to be a great showcase of what was trending in the amazing world of technology. (NAN)
