Petrol sells at over N170 in Abia, Kebbi, Kwara in November – NBS

Petrol price in Taraba hits N162 per liter

In its latest release on Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) Price Watch for November 2020 by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Abia, Kebbi and Kwara states were the states with the highest average price of petrol.

The figures showed that Abia state had the highest average price of N178.70, closely followed by Kebbi state with N174.76 and then Kwara state with N172.33.

States with the lowest average price of premium motor spirit were Zamfara (N161.73), Bauchi (N161.78) and Kaduna (N163.83).

The report further revealed that an average price paid by consumers for petrol increased by 14.62 percent year-on-year and month-on-month by 3.79 percent to N167.27 in November 2020 from N161.17 in October 2020.

On Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) Price Watch for November 2020, Benue (N263.33), Kebbi (N258.57) and Taraba (N251.67) were the states with the highest average price, while Kwara (N182.50), Osun (N192.67) and Nasarawa (N196.33) were the states with the lowest average price.

The agency said the average price paid by consumers for diesel increased by 1.79 percent month-on-month and decreased -0.59 percent year-on-year to N223.74 in November 2020 from N219.80 in October 2020.

The report further noted that states with the highest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquified Petroleum Gas (cooking gas) were Bauchi (N2,488.32), Borno (N2,396.69) and Adamawa (N2,367.80), while states with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for cooking gas were Enugu (NI,561.00), Imo (N1,662.50) and Osun (N1,683.75).
