The Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) has resolved a year-long power shortage challenge in Goshen Beach Estate, located along the Lekki Phase 1 area of the state, through swift and timely intervention.

In a letter made available to BusinessDay, Goshen Beach Estate Residents Association highlighted their appreciation to Temitope George, managing director of LASERC, citing how she facilitated the estate’s timely direct connection to the Jazz 38 Feeder line.

The connection, which was done by the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) team, was spearheaded by LASERC.

The residents, therefore, commended the commission for what they described as a prompt and decisive intervention that restored a stable and reliable power supply to the estate.

“We write on behalf of the residents of Goshen Beach Estate to sincerely appreciate your personal intervention in resolving our intractable power problems, which lasted about a year,” the letter read in part.

Adding that: “We have now been connected to the direct line from the Jazz 38 Feeder.”

According to the residents, the estate had battled severe electricity problems for about one year despite repeated efforts and financial contributions by members of the community to secure a lasting solution.

The association noted that previous attempts to resolve the issue yielded little result until the direct engagement of LASERC and EKEDC.

“The very precarious Goshen Beach Estate power situation lasted long, and the residents contributed and invested significant expense in trying to find a lasting solution, but alas, we were severely disappointed until the direct engagement and intervention of EKEDC and you,” the residents wrote in the letter.

According to them, the completion of the feeder connection project has significantly improved electricity stability within the estate and brought relief to every household.
