Tabichi invites Africa’s education innovators to apply for Jacobs Foundation’s best practice prizes

Peter Tabichi, a global teacher prize winner, is inviting Africa’s trailblazing education innovators to apply for the 2022 Jacobs foundation’s best practice prizes worth $200,000.

The US$200,000 best practice prizes is for Africa’s “trailblazing” entrepreneurs, non-profits and research organizations in the education sector to showcase the innovative solutions they have developed to help transform education for the better, especially as the sector is recovering from coronavirus pandemic challenges.

Interested candidates for the 2022 Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prizes are expected to furnish educators around the world about the innovative works they have done in the sector. Three best practice prizes according to the statement from the organisers will be awarded in September 2022, each worth CHF 200,000 (over $200,000).

According to Fabio Segura and Simon Sommer, co-chief executive officers of the Jacobs Foundation, “By showcasing examples of best practice on the ground, we can help to shift policy and ensure that all children have access to quality education.

“As education systems adapt to new and unfamiliar terrain, there is not a moment to lose. We must bring to light the evidence of what works and use it to implement solutions that can be tailored to learners’ diverse individual needs both here in Africa and globally.

“We would like to thank Peter for his call to action. Supporting teachers as they continue to inspire, even as the world shifts under their feet, is not just the right thing to do, it is the wellspring of our future. This way, we can help all children to thrive, and become socially responsible and productive members of society.”

The Klaus J. Jacobs Best Practice Prizes is an annual award geared towards honouring outstanding achievement and practice in advancing quality education. Applications for this year’s awards will close on February 10.
