With a novel idea of inspiring young people with short stories, Poise Graduate Finishing Academy (PGFA), a subsidiary of Poise Nigeria Limited, is set to launch the Volume 2 of its ground breaking book, 40 First Jobs.

In a riveting and easy-to-read style, 40 First Jobs anthologises the interesting stories of 40 eminent Nigerians drawn from diverse fields of endeavour, including business, entertainment, politics, academia and non-profits. These successful career men and women share their experiences while on their first jobs, with the aim of reorienting young and upcoming Nigerians, to have a positive attitude towards their first jobs and to work in general. Some of the notable contributors include Prof. Pat Utomi (Founder, Centre for Value in Leadership, and African Democratic Congress); Cosmos Maduka (CEO Coscharis); Emeka Ndu (vice chairman, C&I Leasing Plc); Frank Nweke Jnr (former minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria); Eniola Fadayomi (president/chairman, Institute of Council of Directors of Nigeria), and Kola Aina (CEO Ventures Park), to mention a few.

Asher Adeniyi, project lead, shares an insight on the book in his statement, “Fundamentally, we believe First Jobs usually are not desirable, but in them lie the potential for the desired jobs, only if taken seriously and as a significant learning opportunity. This is what we intend the book to capture.”

The book, 40 First Jobs, was first published in the year 2016 and got positive reception among the target audience. Volume 2 is a build-up on the success of the first volume, and is designed to motivate and empower the readers.

40 First Jobs is a non-profit project sponsored by Poise Nigeria with the support of Oxfam International. The book, when launched, will be widely distributed online for free to the target audience. This is to ensure that there are no barriers of accessibility that could arise as a result of cost.

PGFA hopes that 40 First Jobs will achieve its aim of impacting Nigerian youths to appreciate every first step on the journey to career success.

The book will be launched on August 19th 2019 (tomorrow), in commemoration of the International Youth Day with some of the distinguished book contributors present.
