North east region should prioritize education to regain peace – Governor Zulum

We won’t give up fight against terrorism, says Borno governor

The Borno state governor, Babangida Umara Zulum on Thursday said for the northeast region to regain back the peace enterprise it is known for, the region must revive the education sector while opportunities must be created for the teeming youth populace.

This is just as he said #EndSARS protest was a consequence of massive unemployment.

The governor who doubles as the chairman of the Northeast governor’s forum made the position during the economic and security summit at government house Yola.

Zulum noted that the governors of the region are also making concerted efforts to regulate preaching to reduce the negative influences of unwholesome preachers and to prevent the youth from being indoctrinated.

He said the policy will be stringently implemented while offenders will be diligently and duly punished.

Zulum noted that the governors are also putting measures to contain the rising cases of kidnappings, banditry, and all forms of criminal ventures so as to enhance peaceful coexistence and economic activities.
