MIVA University hosts master class with industry titans

In its efforts to ensure competency in learning, MIVA Open University hosted a series of distinguished masterclasses for its students featuring accomplished entrepreneurs and innovators.

Shola Akinlade’s masterclass titled; Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Tech was held on October 21, 2023, and delved into the realm of Fintech.

Akinlade’s insights, ranging from the importance of momentum and team-building to continuous development and customer-centricity, offered invaluable knowledge and inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs and developers in the Fintech industry.

Andrew David Adejo’s masterclass was on “The Role of Government in Policy Making” and was held on November 8, 2023. The class brought to light valuable insights into Nigeria’s education system.

Addressing challenges faced by civil servants, policy developments, and innovations, Adejo shed light on ongoing efforts to enhance education in the country.

Discussions centred on issues such as corruption, deficiencies in the student loan programme, and teacher shortages, highlighting government initiatives to provide quality education and improved opportunities for citizens.

Uyi Akpata’s masterclass titled “Accounting Fundamentals for Business Management”, which was held on November 11, 2023, emphasised the importance of understanding clients, fostering innovation, and addressing industry challenges.

Akpata also provided insights into the daily responsibilities of auditors and forensic accountants, with a particular emphasis on the role of technology in fraud detection.
