Lagos State Government has issued duly signed provisional letters of approvals to 114 School Proprietors/Owners who have met government guidelines/requirements for the operation of private primary /secondary schools in the state. This is according to a recent statement on the State’s website.
The Government stated that the issuance of the letters to qualified schools operators is in fulfilment of its promise to the operators that anyone that fully complied with government guidelines and requirements for the operations of private school would be given provisional approval by the state government, adding that the present administration recognises such school and that its operational guideline is in tandem with government requirements and general policy on the operation of private schools in the state.
The Deputy Governor, Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who represented Governor Akinwunmi Ambode at the event, stated that the essence of the letters was to recognise those that abide by the government rules and regulations regarding operation of private schools and to encourage them to do better, thereby, promoting the growth of quality education in the state.
Adebule, said ” “You should know this is just a provisional approval letter, we will not hesitate to withdraw the letter from any school that performs below standard or for any reason that suggests that the school has lost focus in its operational guidelines.”
