Some countries prioritise producing leaders in business, economics, and finance, and it shows in their degree numbers.

Earning a Master in Business Administration (MBA) is a proven way to demonstrate one’s understanding of popular management theories and practices and to set up a business career.

Although some have argued that MBA degrees are not as prestigious as they once were, the number of high-paying jobs requiring an MBA suggests those fears may be unfounded.

In its further demonstration of the continued relevance of business education, every year, the Financial Times (FT) of London determines the top 100 business schools across the globe.

According to business.com, here are some of the best countries and schools for a business degree and education;

United States

The United States leads, with over 350,000 business degrees awarded each year, nearly one in every five college graduates.

The country’s business schools remain among the most prestigious in the world, feeding Wall Street, Silicon Valley, and Fortune 500 companies.

Not less than 43 of the top 100 business schools are located in the United States, the best of which are mixes of private and public academic institutions.

The U.S. is home to the following renowned Ivy League business schools; the Wharton School, located in Philadelphia and part of the University of Pennsylvania. The Wharton School offers a BS in economics as well as MBA/EMBA and PhD programme. The cost of obtaining a degree in the school is about $245,772 (about N400 million).

Columbia Business School with a fee of about $232,760 ( N350 million) for programmes such as MBA/EMBA, PhD, MS, and MPhil qualifications.

The Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and Yale School of Management, among others.

United Kingdom

The United Kingdom follows with around 120,000 business graduates annually. London’s status as a global financial hub keeps business degrees in high demand.

Some of the business schools in the UK include London Business School, University of Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Oxford Saïd Business School, and Imperial College Business School.

France

France with several top business schools ranks among the top countries with MBA institutions with weighted salaries.

Notably, is HEC Paris, which limits the number of students it admits each year for its 16-month MBA course, capping the programme at 300.

HEC Paris offers Bachelor, MiM, and MSc in International Finance, MBA, EMBA, executive education, professional development, professional certification, and PhD programmes.

Others include ESCP Business School, EMLyon Business School, Edhec Business School, and Essec Business School, among others.

India

The top business schools in India are the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, the Indian School of Business, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, and the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.

The Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad has been designated an Institute of National Importance by the country’s Ministry of Human Resources.

It is also home to the well-regarded Centre for Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship, making it an excellent choice for those interested in starting their own business or working with startups.

China

The Chinese business schools have begun to appear in greater numbers on top business school lists, befitting its status as the world’s second-largest economy.

China currently has four institutions named in the FT ranking such as Shanghai University of Finance and Economics College of Business, Peking University: Guanghua School of Management, and Fudan University School of Management.

China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) is a joint venture between the Chinese government and the European Union.

In addition to making the FT list, it also finishes in the top five of an equivalent Bloomberg ranking. However, the university attracted negative attention in recent years with the publication of the 12-part “CEIBS Diaries,” which revealed the unpleasant experiences of its overseas students.

Canada

Canada has seen a rise in business degrees, with many students choosing programs in finance, entrepreneurship, and international trade—fields that align with Canada’s growing role in global markets.

The top business schools in Canada by weighted salary are Western University Ivey Business School, University of Toronto Rotman School of Management, Queen’s University Smith School of Business, and McGill University Desautels Faculty of Management.

Spain

Spain is home to not one, not two, but three of Europe’s top-ranked global MBA programmes, according to FT’s Global MBA Rankings.

Here are the top business schools in Spain by weighted salary: IESE Business School, Esade Business School, IE Business School, and Eada Business School Barcelona.
