Detailed guide to applying for the Students’ Loan Fund

Over 400,000 students register for student’s loan in 7 months

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced that the portal for the students loan will be open on Friday, 24, May 2024

It has encouraged students to commence an application for the fund immediately after it launches.

Here are a few steps to apply for the loan

Before you apply, be sure of your eligibility: With the launch of the loan portal, only students of federal institutions are eligible to benefit from the first set of loans.

Although all students of Federal universities, polytechnics, Colleges of Education and technical institutions are eligible for the loan, only students whose school has uploaded their data on the portal will be able to access the loan

Once you’ve verified that you’re eligible for this loan, you then proceed to

I. Log into the loan portal which is available on www.nelf.gov.ng

II. Log on to the student loaning portal website to create an account or log in using your existing credentials.

III. If you have created an account, you will require the following documents to complete the loan application: Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Admissions letter, National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank verification number (BVN).

IV. Fill out the required information including personal details, academic information and details of financial need.

V. Submit your application: Review the Application thoroughly before submission. Once submitted you will receive a confirmation email with further instructions.

Applicants are advised to submit their applications as early as possible to ensure timely processing.
