CIAPS commits to improved 21st Century practices for Pas, executive assistants

Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies (CIAPS), the first paperless academic institution in Africa, says it is committed to improving the performance of personal assistants and executive assistants to meet 21st Century practice using the right training programme.
Anthony Kila, CIAPS centre director, observes that one of the important roles that a lot of people dangerously underestimate is that of personal assistants and executive assistants.

According to Kila, “It is a shame that too many people don’t realise that a huge fraction of success and failures of senior managers and companies can be attributed to their personal assistants and executive assistants. As a matter of fact, I am convinced that to predict the performance of an executive and an office, part of what you need do is just to observe the assistants.”
Announcing the hosting of a programme scheduled for January 29, which will draw experts across Nigeria and other African countries to deliberate on the role and responsibilities of PAs and Executive Assistants of the future, Kila said the programme had been designed bearing in mind the need of and with a lot of inputs from company chairmen and directors, ministers and commissioners, legislators, advisers and top consultants.

The programme is an initiative of the CIAPS, with input from ECAPS, Cambridge, The Global PA Association London and The Executive Assistant Network Sydney.
He further said as part of the programme, participants would have a special session with a CEO to discuss the practical side of assisting projects, offices and events.
Sadie Davies, CIAPS administrator and events coordinator, while also commenting on the programme, said technology was a major factor in the way PAs and executive assistants of the future would perform their role and responsibilities.
The event, she noted, will be an opportunity to share direct and inside tips about our ever-moving sector of administrators and project.
