The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that those who lost their previously used but lost SIM cards can now retrieve them for the coming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).

JAMB disclosed this on the board’s official X handle @JAMBHQ, amidst candidates complain of confusion on how to go about their profile codes and what to do about their lost SIM cards in the face of the coming registration.

“Good news for those who cannot retrieve their previously used but lost SIM cards. A feature is now available at all CBT centres to address your case.”

The tertiary institutions entrance examination umpire board urged 2025 UTME/DE potential candidates to kindly fill the template to access this service for the coming registration.

JAMB reiterated that the SIM SWAP option is still not available.

Bello Stephen demanded for JAMB’s assistance and clarification on what to do next.

“On Wednesday I tried creating profile code but I discovered my names was misspelled, which I’ve corrected at nimc office and got a corrected NIN slip, what do I do next  my name hasn’t changed on the profile code,” he asked.

Tukura said he is having problem of profile code creation. “I have been trying several times but still unable to gain access. Though, I ever sat for once in the year 2020. But despite typing ‘resend’, it displays ‘You cannot use ‘Resend’ command because you have not created profile code’,” he said.

Alhaji Wise complained that he lost his old number which he used for previous JAMB, and was wondering if he new SIM card and use it for his registration.

“I lost my old number that I for previous JAMB, can I buy new sim registered with my NIN to generate new profile code?” he asked.

Recall that BusinessDay earlier reported that the registration and examination dates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination has been announced by JAMB.

JAMB disclosed that prospective candidates can begin their registration on January 31, 2025, with the process set to end on March 5, 2025.

Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar/chief executive officer at JAMB disclosed this during a meeting with media executives in Lagos, besides, he revealed that the 2025 UTME will commence on March 8, 2025, with a mock examination scheduled for February 23, 2025, for candidates who opt to participate.

The board said that to ensure a smooth process of the 2025 registration, all candidates must meet the mandatory requirements, including providing their National Identification Number (NIN).

“The NIN will be used to create a profile code, a prerequisite for the registration process. Candidates are required to send their NIN via text to either 55019 or 66019 to generate the code.

“For those opting to include the mock examination as part of their UTME registration, a fee of ₦8,200 will apply. Candidates who wish to sit only for the examination without the mock will pay ₦7,200, while those registering for Direct Entry (DE) will pay ₦5,700,” JAMB stated.
