Sixty more COVID-19 patient have been discharged by the Lagos State government to reunite with their families.
Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who announced this, said the patients comprising 40 males and 20 females, all Nigerians, were discharged on Tuesday, April 5, from the Yaba, Eti-Osa (LandMark) and Ibeju-Lekki isolation facilities.
A breakdown of the figures showed that 31 were discharged from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 19 from the Ibeju-Lekki Isolation Centre and 10 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) Isolation Centre after testing negative to COVID-19 in two consecutive readings.
“With this, the number of #COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 321,” said Sanwo-Olu.
Meanwhil, the government has confirmed the death of a 35-year-old coronavirus positive patient, bringing fatalities in the state since the index case in February this year to 31.
It was gathered that the deceased, a Nigerian, contracted the virus and was being managed in the state before he passed on.
Commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi, who confirmed the death toll on Tuesday in a statement on his official social media handle, urged residents to adhere strictly to the preventive measures outlined by medical experts.
