Lagos, Abuja, Ogun get highest of Jack Ma’s relief materials in fight against Coronavirus

Lagos and Ogun States, along with the Federal Capital Territory, got the highest number of medical relief materials donated to Nigeria by Chinese businessman and billionaire philanthropist, Jack Ma, in support of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The relief materials, a total of 130,912 items, comprised 100,000 ordinary face masks, 20,000 units of reagents for testing, 9,999 coverall gown and 913 face shields,  were distributed across different states, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, has said.

Lagos, being the state hit the most with the virus, received the highest number of relief materials, with a total of 30,439.

These comprised 27,678 face masks, 2,596 coverall gowns, and 165 face shields.

Abuja followed next with 16,182 items, comprising 14,115,  1906, and 161 face masks, coverall gowns and face shields, respectively.

Ogun got a total of 5104 of the items, comprising 4375 face masks, 671 coverall gowns and 58 face shields.

As at 08:00 pm 1st April, there were 174 confirmed cases of Coronavirus reported in Nigeria, the NCDC said.

It said a total of nine patients had been discharged, with two deaths.

The distribution of the 174 Coronavirus cases in Nigeria currently is as follows:
