Valentine Buraimoh, Executive Chairman, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, has said that COVID-19 respects nobody, however calling on residential street at Amuwo-Odofin to comply with the guidelines in order to curtail the spread.
”The second wave of Covid-19 our common enemy with no respect for gender, tribe or status is fast ravaging the world. In Nigeria and Lagos amongst its casualties are distinguished personalities in the society,” he said.
Amuwo is among the top five Local Governments with high numbers of COVID19 positive cases has about 25 percent of the total number of cases in Lagos.

According to Buraimoh, to this end, it becomes expedient that under my watch as Executive Chairman full ENFORCEMENT and COMPLIANCE measures as directed by NCDC will be totally observed and defaulters duly prosecuted.
“We must begin to take responsibility of our actions and inactions to ensure that we mitigate the surge amongst us in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government,” he said.
The local government chairman cautioned that to be your brothers keeper, you must ensure that you observe the following.
“Mandatory that you use your facemask in public, Maintain Social and Physical Distance.
“Wash and sanitize your hands as frequently as possible, Report suspected cases to the appropriate authorities,” he said.
He added that Bars and clubs to suspend operations indefinitely, While Sports centers and sport fields are also to suspend operations.
“Please let us adhere to these directives. We did it before, we can do it again,” he urged.
