Coronavirus: Ebonyi Records third Case, a Lagos resident who travelled by road

Umahi orders re-sealing of traders’ shop in Ebonyi market

Ebonyi State in South East Nigeria has recorded another case of coronavirus, making it the third in the state.

The patient is a 25-year-old man from Odomoke Ishieke area of Ebonyi local government area of the State who lives  in the Santana Area of Lagos State.

Governor David Umahi of the State announced the 3rd case of Covid-19 pandemic in Ebonyi State late on Friday.

BusinessDay learnt that the young man is a dealer in telephone accessories at Ojo in Lagos. He left Lagos on Friday 24/4/2020, by road, passing through Benin City, Onitsha, Enugu to  Ogbala Isheke, where he was accosted by the State Anti-Covid 19 task force in Ebonyi LGA.

He was later sent for Laboratory Test where Result came out Positive for COVID -19 on Friday, May 1.

The patient has already been quarantined at the COVID-19 centre in Abakaliki.

Among the three confirmed cases of the pandemic in Ebonyi, two came from Ebonyi local government and one from Ukawu, Onicha local government area of the State.
