1,398 new Covid-19 cases take Nigeria’s total infections to 103,999

Nigeria’s Covid-19 numbers near 104,000 as country records 1,398 new cases

Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 1,398 new cases of Covid-19 across 23 states, taking the total infections in the country to 103,999.

According to the daily update by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the total number of deaths is now 1,382 with nine new deaths in 24 hours.

A breakdown of the new cases shows that Lagos maintains the highest with 542 cases, FCT 131, Oyo 120, Rivers 113, Plateau 111, Kaduna 71, Kwara 71, Akwa Ibom 34, Sokoto 31, Benue 28, Ogun 27, and Kano 26.

Others are Kebbi 17, Osun 12, Nasarawa 11, Delta 10, Gombe 10, Bayelsa 9, Borno 9, Edo 8, Ekiti 3, Jigawa 2, and Katsina 2.

The update also shows that a total of 82,555 persons have so far been discharged.

“Our discharges today include 317 community recoveries in Lagos State, 241 in Kwara State and 134 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines,” the centre tweeted.
