Waka Community partners Q-Life Clinic, HEI to promote healthy living

Waka Community International, a global wellness initiative committed to building a healthy society, has partnered Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) and Q-life Clinic to promote a healthy lifestyle through walking and exercise.

The partnership, according to the organization, is aimed at building a healthy society and prolonging the life expectancy of individuals through exercise and walking.

Lawrence Mba, the founder of Waka community International which is currently in 30 countries, explained that keeping fit has been a major source of healthy living and long life, adding that individuals especially the youths must see it as a habit.

“We are tired of hearing gone so soon, knowing that it is actually easy to control it. We will all die someday but there is no need to rush out of earth. Life is fun to live. We decided to share what we do to promote a healthy life in a very simple way.

“We tell our members in 30 countries of the world to do only two basic things which is to walk for at least 30 minutes and eat sensitively then get enough good quality sleep,” Lawrence said.

He encouraged Nigerians to always put fitness into practice, noting that walking offers numerous benefits which includes losing weight, helps keep away cardiovascular diseases, fats, diabetes, mental health issues, glaucoma among others.

Paschal Achunine, Executive Director, HEI, disclosed that the partnership aims at creating more consciousness of healthy living in Nigeria.

HEI, according to the organization, is dedicated to providing immediate and quality medical assistance to victims of health emergencies.

“We emphasis healthy living and recognize that many Nigerians today dies of medical conditions that requires less than 20 thousand Naira, so in the last 7 year HEI has collaborated with public hospitals in Lagos to provide life saving support to Nigerians and those who need this equipments to stay alive which is over 60 percent of Nigerians with the poverty rate. we are also working together with well meaning Nigerians who want to make a difference to achieve this aim,” Pascal said.

Ade Alakija, a medical Doctor, who also embraced the event noted that Nigerians are not healthy enough and need exercise to get fit. He said “Walking adds a lot to your health and that’s why we have gathered here to support Waka Community in the journey of promoting a better and healthy life through walking and awareness.”

He disclosed that through walking, the body metabolism increases and always helps in keeping fit.

Adelowa Adeshola, Chairman Q-life Clinic said, “healthy living is important to the society. A nation that is healthy is a happy one.”

According to him, a healthy society is innovative and the dimensions are unimaginable. He added that individuals need to make out little of their time to keep fit, leveraging the good climate conditions.

“Walking is the simplest way to keep healthy. Doctors will tell you that walking like 30 minutes daily will help to resist common illness and boost immunity,” he added.
