To maintain its status as Nigeria’s largest online property platform, Lamudi has taken agent training as a task to commemorate its second anniversary.

The move, Obi Ejimofo, the company’s managing director, explained, would ensure quality customer service delivery to its clients.

He said: “We have deliberately moved from growth to quality, something to last in the long run. This is why Lamudi this year has witnessed innovations such as Lamudi App, Dial-4- home and the most recent – Lamudi Mortgage Calculator.”

Enumerating the company’s success so far, Ejimofo said Lamudi grew from 2029 listed properties to 41,037 properties, a 65 percent increase on web visitors, adding that Lamudi had offices across the 35 states of the federation, except Kebbi State.

“The organisation has slashed its 7000 agents to 3000 agents, keeping only the best to ensure that every interaction with our agents is a good one, we need growth on quality of service, quality of team,” said Ejimofo.

Despite the success, Lamudi has faced challenges from bad economy as regard to the increase in dollar, which has squeezed properties on sales, but rent has remained sustained.

This increase in dollar has given foreign investors an edge over local ones.  The decline in its web visits from 120,000 to 80,000 could be attributed to the anticipation during the Nigeria’s election in May.
